Capt. Mamsa joined PIA in July
1980 as a Cadet Pilot and flew Fokker F27, Boeing 707, Boeing
737-300, Airbus A300, Airbus A310-300 and Boeing 747 aircraft as
a sound professional.
Sadly Capt. Mamsa, known for being polite and gentle person, died in his
room on June 9, 2009 at Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar
which was struck by a deadly terrorist bomb attack that day.
On December 9, 2009, at a seminar
on Aviation Safety Standards held at PIA Training Centre (PTC)
in Karachi, Managing Director PIA Capt. Aijaz Haroon, conferred
a posthumous award to Capt. Yousaf Mamsa, a senior and
outstanding PIA pilot, who died in uniform on June 9, 2009 in
