Capt. Mamsa joined PIA in July 1980 as a Cadet Pilot and flew Fokker F27, Boeing 707, Boeing 737-300, Airbus A300, Airbus A310-300 and Boeing 747 aircraft as a sound professional.

Sadly Capt. Mamsa, known for being polite and gentle person, died in his room on June 9, 2009 at Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar which was struck by a deadly terrorist bomb attack that day.

On December 9, 2009, at a seminar on Aviation Safety Standards held at PIA Training Centre (PTC) in Karachi, Managing Director PIA Capt. Aijaz Haroon, conferred a posthumous award to Capt. Yousaf Mamsa, a senior and outstanding PIA pilot, who died in uniform on June 9, 2009 in Peshawar Pearl Continental Hotel bomb blast

Captain Mohsin Khan seen through the cockpit communication hatch, which is designed to allow trim sheet and other paperwork to be passed between the cockpit without someone having to travel the entire length of the cabin as the only passenger door is at the rear of the cabin. As the trim sheet is usually presented to the captain when the passengers are boarding, it is nearly impossible for the trimmer to pass through the cabin as passengers are adjusting their luggage and seating themselves
