Under new PIA rules, introduced on April 20, 2008,  now all PIA aircraft captains uniform have four stripes with star. Before the introduction of this new rule only jet captains in PIA had star with four stripes in their uniform while captains of turboprop aircraft like Fokker F27 and ATR 42-500 had four stripes without star in their uniform
