Capt. Ali Akhtar Khan at the
controls of a PIA Lockheed Super Constellation. He died as
commander of PIA Boeing 720B flight PK-705 that crashed near
Cairo Airport on May 20, 1965. At the time of his death Capt.
Ali Akhtar Khan was the senior most pilot in PIA. His co-pilot
on the ill-fated Cairo flight was another very senior pilot
Capt. Afzal Johri. The death of two senior captains in Cairo crash
was a huge loss for PIA
