This
ATR 72-210, (registration F-WWLI) with PIA logo stickers arrived
in Pakistan in the middle of 1990s to fly evaluation flights for
PIA as a possible replacement of its Fokker F27 aircraft fleet.
PIA pilots tested capabilities of ATR-72-210 and flew it on main
Fokker F27 routes including difficult and very demanding routes
of northern mountainous region of Pakistan. F27 fleet

This
interesting photo taken by Torsten shows SU-BDF of Egypt Air
wearing fuselage colors of PIA at Stuttgart-Echterdingen
Airport, Germany, on May 30, 1992. In late 1990, this Airbus was
intended to be leased to PIA, and was therefore painted up in
full PIA livery at Cairo Airport. The deal, however, fell
through, and the aircraft remained with Egypt Air. Therefore the
fuselage colors were left but tail logo was changed back to
Egypt Air. As such it flew for the full year of 1991, and only
in 1992 it was repainted back into full Egypt Air livery |
