Managing Director PIA Air Vice Marshal Farooq Umar meeting squash legend Jehangir Khan at airline's Head Office in Karachi on April 13, 1993. PIA has played important role in promotion of squash in Pakistan and sponsored series of world squash events staged in the country. Jehangir, who was a PIA employee, remained unbeaten in over 550 matches from 1981 to 1986. From 1982 to 1991 he won 10 British Open titles in a row. Jehangir, a true gentle giant and a great ambassador for Pakistan, also appeared in ads for PIA that were printed in leading magazines and newspapers around the world during 1980s. In honour of Jehangir's achievements in world squash, PIA Squash Complex in Karachi was recently renamed as Jehangir Khan Squash Complex

Managing Director PIA Air Vice Marshal Farooq Umar with two of squash's finest players Qamar Zaman (left) and Hashim Khan at airline's Head Office in Karachi. Qamar Zaman was leading squash player in 1970s and 1980s. His biggest achievement was winning the British Open in 1975. Hashim Khan, who won British Open for seven times between 1951 and 1958, is considered as one of the greatest squash players of all time and was the first player from Pakistani dynasty of squash players which ruled the international game for decades

Managing Director PIA Air Vice Marshal Farooq Umar presenting promotion letter to PIA and Pakistan cricket team's leading all-rounder Wasim Akram on July 20, 1994. Wasim, who was a PIA employee and represented airline's team in Pakistan's domestic cricket tournaments, is one of world cricket's all-time great players. He played important role in Pakistan team's cricket World Cup 1992 win and was declared man-of-the-match in the final game played against England in which Wasim displayed all-round performance to help Pakistan win the world cup. The ever smiling Wasim also appeared in a number of ads for PIA in print and electronic media
