A group of under privileged
children from Make A Wish Foundation (MAWF), Pakistan, visited PIA Head
Office in Karachi, on June 1, 2011. Present on the occasion were
Managing Director PIA Capt. Nadeem Khan Yousufzai, President MAWF
Mirza
Ishtiaq Baig and others.
In a ceremony jointly organized
by MAWF and PIA, Capt. Nadeem
Khan Yousafzai gave free air tickets to four children who showed
air travel as their biggest and unfulfilled dream. One of the
children named Muhammad Usama
desired to become a pilot and his wish came true when Capt. Yousufzai decorated him with PIA’s coveted flying wings. He also
distributed gifts among them. Director Flight Operations Capt. Ilyas Malik, Chief Pilot
Corporate Safety Capt. Adnan Malik and other officials were
also present at the occasion to cajole the needy children.
Later the children flew to
Islamabad where they were taken on city tour by PIA officials
and returned back to Karachi.
Sadly Muhammad Usama, who was
suffering from a chronic kidney disease, died on the morning of
July 7, 2011 |
