First Officer Adnan Zoraiz selects the number 1 fuel switch to normal, allowing fuel to enter the engine and start. The engine number 4 thrust lever is slightly advanced. This is due to the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) being inoperative, and the start pressure for the number 1 engine being derived from the number 4 engine.
