142 passengers. This particular Boeing 707 was acquired by PIA
on lease from
Pan American
World Airways from 1960 to 1962 and it made PIA the first
airline from Asia to operate jets.

Flight Steward Abdul Hayee who left
PIA while serving as General Manager Flight Service, was a very
prominent VVIP crew and he was awarded Sitara-i-Khidmat by the
President of Pakistan for his meritorious services as Cabin
Crew. Flight Steward Atta-Ur-Rehman Butt retired as Customer
Service Officer. Air Hostess Naseema died in PIA Boeing 720-040B
(AP-AMH) crash near Cairo Airport on May 20, 1965. Flight
Service Supervisor Arjumand Ahmad was the first Muslim Pakistani
Air Hostess to join PIA in 1956. Back Purser Hayat Akber (Lala)
served as Manager Flight Service at Karachi and Islamabad for
many years prior to retirement |
