AP-AYW photographed at Lahore Airport on December 25, 1993. The Boeing 747 is parked away from airport's terminal building and is sitting on apron that was built to park Boeing 747s. The apron in-front of airport terminal in use at that time was not capable of handling weight of Boeing. The construction of this new apron away from terminal building allowed introduction of Boeing 747 aircraft type on flights from & to Lahore in 1980s. Nowadays this apron, with a small building, is used as Hajj terminal for Hajj flights operated with Boeing 747s. The regular & scheduled Boeing 747 passengers flights now use airport's new terminal building named Allama Iqbal International Airport that was inaugurated on March 17, 2003
