On September 7, 1966, AP-ALX made a very rough landing on its nose wheel at Chittagong Airport in East Pakistan. The nose-wheel was broken and fuselage skin around cockpit section also suffered damage as seen in these pictures. In the beginning of October, a small tsunami with 2 meters high waves caused further damage to Fokker grounded after landing accident at Chittagong Airport. During the repair work, lots of snakes were found hiding in the aircraft because of the high waves that struck the airfield during tsunami.

On January 3, 1967, AP-ALX repair work was completed and the Fokker Company's aircraft repair team went home after a grand dinner hosted in their honour by PIA
