Once again a poor choice of aircraft selected for PIA operations.

How will these aircraft compete with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic nonstop service on the 787s??

Plus Emirates, Qatar, Turkish and other airlines providing connecting flights.

These two airbuses are high density aircraft with zero on board entertainment.

Unless PIA fares are half of what the other airlines are charging I doubt anyone would fly PIA chartered flights.

This obviously shows the ex airforce CEO thinks he is still running the airline like a C-130.

Airline business is SERVICE ORIENTED BUSINESS. Its not a bus service.

PIA has reached this level because of incompetent and corrupt officials running the airline affairs.

Getting banned from Europe, US and UK should have been enough reason for the government to KICK OUT Arshad Malik, but seems like his connections are more powerful then the interests of the airline.

I am still wondering why has PIA not been able to get approval to use its own fleet until now, it has been over a year since we were banned.

Technically the fleet is not banned. It is the operation with Pakistani licensed pilots that is banned (at least my understanding).

Pakistani airlines, Pakistani registered aircraft and aircraft crew holding licenses issued by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) not allowed to operate flights to/from European Union (EU) member states because European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has expressed concerns regarding oversight capabilities of Pakistan CAA.

EASA also rejected offer made by Pakistan to operate Pakistani registered aircraft with pilots and engineers holding licenses of foreign countries accepted by EASA.

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) team is expected to visit Pakistan in October/November this year for Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Positive outcome of ICAO audit of Pakistan CAA may help in getting restrictions on operation of Pakistani airlines/Pakistan registered aircraft/Pakistani license aircraft crew flights to/from Europe and USA lifted.

Jordan Aviation Airbus A330-200 (aircraft registration JY-JVB) performing flight R54497 from Amman to Manchester.

Probably positioning flight to Manchester before the A330 as chartered aircraft starts transporting PIA passengers between UK and Pakistan.

I have question:

After the Brexit happen, is this possible for PIA to fly to UK only and still facing the EU ban? Mean is it possible for GoP to negotiate this solution?

If overfly is a problem wondering how long de-tour be added if PIA opt to fly over Iran, Turkey north Africa and circle back to UK?

The UK has banned them too for the time being.

EASA ban wasn’t quite his fault in that regard Aviation minister and CAA officials deserve to be kicked out.
Arshad malik’s intended tenure has already been completed but looks like someone in the government thinks he’s going to magically turn into nur khan one day he wakes up.
It’s a shame how a population of 22cr can’t produce a good Airline CEO.
