So, why did PIA include two Boeing 777-200LR Worldliners in its 777s order when the job i.e. non-stop flight between Pakistan and North America can also be done with Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 777-300ER that were part of the order?

The Worldliner became a lesser successful 777 variant in terms of sales.

PIA two LRs were suppose to to Eva Air of Taiwan but they cancelled and Boeing offered it to PIA.

Pakistanis like always try to be flamboyant and asked for the two LRs to be the first ones to fly it.

It was for New York and Toronto, but does it make sense to order only two planes, while what we really needed for the 300ER as the 777s were replacing the 400 seat jumbos on routes to London, New York, and Saudi, so why settle for an aircraft that was heavy on fuel and PIA really did not need. Its called bad management.

Have a question. Why isb-yyz took longer route Norway/iceland/greenland & canada where as return just crossing atlantic in middle & took shorter route. interestingly flight radar "great circle distance" is same for both in/out flight i.e. 11,008km

Just out of curiosity, aren’t ULR flights defined as flights with more than 18 hours flight time?

Because LR and E(xtended)LR flights are flights with 14 and 16 hours flight time. So in that case this should be an LR flight? I read this in the current ANO being followed by Pakistani airlines but I’m not sure if the same definition is used globally.

"Ultra-long-haul refers to the flight length of a flight being "ultralong." While there is no universally accepted definition for what is considered ultra-long-haul, the term generally refers to flights that are 12 hours or longer."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_long-haul

AP-BMH completed Karachi to Toronto flight PK783 in fourteen hours & twenty-nine minutes.
