CEO asked Boeing if the 787 can do non stop to YYZ in any weather condition with full pay load before finalizing decision, I think they heard positive answer from boeing and things are moving in right direction.

First thing they can do is to go six weekly to YYZ and all premium, as non stop is a big advantage so that they can attract passengers easily on this route.

I think they are under one year contract and have to take 3 A330 on same terms. And none of these can return earlier than a year.

Paying penalty to UL will resolve that.

They shouldnt return leased A330s pre-maturely. With the supposed arrival of 787s more routes should be started or existing higher demand routes should be served with more frequencies.

PIA always unsure to order new aircraft then last minutes to always wet or dry lease aircraft or buy used aircrafts but last time PIA ordered Boeing 747-400 but never get it then PM should accept Boeing offer B787 but another airline different country better ordered new aircraft e.g Biman, Air India, etc

And there is the order for 8 787-9 from Pakistan International Airlines which is awaiting final approval from, I believe, the Government of Pakistan. We can possibly see this order on Boeing's order book by the end of the year.

Boeing is close to selling eight Dreamliner 787s to Pakistan International Airways (PIA) after a high-level lobbying and sales campaign by Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner.

Boeing (NYSE: BA) could begin delivering the wide-body jets in mid-2017, according to media and social media reports in Pakistan.

I wish we could have 10 787-800 :(

Perhaps in the future we can dry lease more 787s, including 9 and 10 and replace the bigger 777s, so we can offer more point to point service, since we cannot compete with ME3's hub service.

Any new developments on this?
The orbital speed of the Earth around the Sun averages about 30 km/s or 18 mps (108,000 km/h or 67000 mph).
Which means we're travelling 97 times the speed of sound. And yet we can't feel the motion,

is the 787 really better than 777?

Aren't there concerns about 787 being new and all? The 777 is tried and tested and has decades in service.

This isnt defence industry where you go for tried and tested in battlefield. 787 is way more fuel efficient than 777/330CEOs and dozens of airlines are operating them regularly. Also PIA being a point-to-point airline, aircraft of 787 class are better suited for it.
