For the first time, we have official confirmation regarding the variant of b787 being considered by PIA. It's the -8. But, CEO has said that Boeing still needs to confirm to them if the -8 can do YYZ non-stop.
Air canada used to do vancouver to delhi on b789. vancouver and delhi are more far apart than ISB and YYZ.

correct. seasonal starting oct 20. Presently its Delhi to YYZ 4 times a week.
Nonetheless, if delhi to toronto possible, surely islamabad to toronto even more so, as the distance is much less, and especially for DEL to vancouver
I really hope they start b788 daily service to toronto. ME3 are limited to only 3 days and Qatar does not even serve toronto. If the loads are good, Air Canada may also jump to start direct service.
Hopefully like 4 times to karachi with connection in islamabad and 3 times direct to lahore. Or maybe 3 direct to KHI/LHE and one with stop in Islamabad. I prefer the latter as this would mean less b787 flying domestic and thus less of those unused business seats flying empty (i doubt people will pay significantly extra for business from KHI to ISB for lie flat seat on 2 hour long flight).

It is normal in such circumstances that nothing is confirmed nor denied, only when it is set in stone will it be confirmed.Pakistan-1 wrote:There is still nothing on paper and Boeing has yet to confirm or deny the roomers/News Reportsammad wrote:What make you think that?Pakistan-1 wrote:Looks like the deal didn't go through

Asking from a twitter account of a Boeing787fans or Boeing directly and not having a reply doesn't means that deal didn't go through, Mr. Suleman!Pakistan-1 wrote: There is still nothing on paper and Boeing has yet to confirm or deny the roomers/News Reports

Re: Boeing Offers to Convert PIA Boeing 777-300ERs Order Into Boeing 787 Dreamliner
PIA is seeking to buy passengers steps compatible for following aircraft:
Boeing 787
Boeing 777
Airbus A330
Airbus A320
Airbus A310
Info Source: http://www.piac.com.pk/cms/tenders/6290 ... bished.pdf
Except Boeing 787, all other aircraft mentioned in tender document are currently operating PIA flights. Steps for 777 are probably already compatible with 787 but mention of 787 maybe indicates airline's plan to induct this aircraft type.

Today,s newspaper ( 30 September 2016 ) Nawa e Waqat has news that PIA has finalized and sign a deal with Boeing for eight 787.
These 787 will only fly for PIA premier. Newspaper also says PIA is considering to cancel the Airbus 330 deal. Paper further says PIA has planned to bring the fleet size to 70 aircraft by the end of 2017 and by 2025 PIA will have a fleet of more than 100 aircraft, all Airbus A 310 will be grounded by the end of next month.

Probably leased A330s to be returned after the arrival of brand new Boeing 777 and/or Boeing 787 aircraft or after upgrade of passenger cabins of a number of Boeing 777s currently in PIA fleet.
