PIA, Hashoo Group ink agreement

Post by Abbas Ali »

KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Hashoo Group Company Tuesday signed an agreement to facilitate National Airlines passengers in ground services throughout its network of operations.

Hashoo Group, through its worldwide network of hotels and auxiliary services, will facilitate PIA in providing a one-stop solution to PIA passengers through this alliance. The agreement was inked on behalf of PIA by Senior Vice President Sales, Anwar Rasul Khan while Hashoo Group was represented by Shahid Nisar, Corporate Director, Travel and Tours Division.

Before the signing ceremony, Mr Rasul informed representatives of electronic and the print media, that alliance of both vital institutions is aimed at creating opportunities for both the sides, which would produce conducive business environment for them. In today’s business world, strategic alliances and joint ventures have become order of the day as no group or institution can operate in isolation and seek desired business results. Mr Rasul said joining hands by both, PIA and Hashoo Group would serve as a milestone for their business interest. Highlighting significance of the new alliance, he hoped it would pose a challenge for the sales team of both sides, which would endeavor for realisation of their desired goals and creation of room space for PIA travelers worldwide where Hashoo Group has been operating its big chain of hotels. staff report

So, does this mean, when you land at your destination, they provide a hotel?
I'm confused.

The group only operates in Pakistan Pear Continental and 2 Marriott.

Will they be now ground handling agents at all PIA served airports. Domestically? or network wide ? Are they trying to buy Roosevelt or what ? The press release is confused just like the Hashoo group itself.
