BA World Cargo launches freighter routings from Pakistan

Post by pkjet »

BA World Cargo has launched two new weekly Boeing 727 freighter routings from Pakistan.

The services are Karachi-Bahrain and Lahore-Bahrain. These two new routes connect with the Bahrain-London line flights allowing customers in Pakistan excellent access to the BA network, the world's largest wholly-owned global network covering 200 destinations across 80 countries. The routings come as a direct response to customer demand for dedicated capacity, giving BA World Cargo a firm footing in this key market.

Johnny Rubio, area commercial manager, Middle East, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka comments: "Karachi and Lahore are key manufacturing hubs for many of the commodities produced in the region and these new flights will ensure that our customers' freight is delivered in the most time efficient manner possible.

"This is a significant development for BA World Cargo in Pakistan and offers customers in Karachi, Lahore and surrounding areas direct access to our unparalleled network and specialist handling capabilities in particular across Europe, the US, the UK and Ireland. We are confident that we can continue to build on our success in Pakistan and strengthen our position in the market still further."

Can customers in Pakistan send cargo as 'belly cargo' in the existing ISB-LHR route via BA's passenger flights? Will the new routing allow larger cargo to be carried?
