PIA extends contract with Fraport Cargo Services

28-Jun-2007 : Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has extended its contract for the physical and document cargo handling with Fraport Cargo Services (FCS) for another four years.

PIA has used the cargo handling services of FCS at Frankfurt Hahn airport since July 2006. Cargo delivered by forwarding agents can be accepted centrally at Frankfurt airport, regardless if the cargo is flying from FRA or HHN.

"Thanks to the cooperation with FCS, we can offer two cargo acceptance and delivery points – at FRA and HHN. Hahn is served by trucks daily, and special transports are no problem. The Hahn operation is very flexible – on request we can re-route the freighters to Islamabad or Lahore,” commented PIA cargo manager at Frankfurt, Ashfaq Maher.

Hans-Georg Emmert, senior manager sales of FCS, added: “PIA has been a major customer from the beginning. In combination with the Hahn-handling, we could offer an attractive package and could finalise the contract extension successfully.”
