let me predict the results...
737s 80% votes
ATRs 20% votes
reasons for votes:
737s : well a jet is a jet is a jet is a jet...
ATRs : brand new planes with new technology and Glass cockpit...(and seniority in some cases..tsk tsk)
its a strange choice actually one is a jet but an old version(no gLass for you) the other is a brand new glass cockpit (..but no jet for you!!) but thats what made it possible to equate them in the first place....
anyway may Allah give everyone the option thats best suited to their careers...

look guys it is not like that the way you think, yea people will be given choice to select aircraft for them but it will be for those who already have something under their belt not for every one, what i heard that people with more than 500 hrs plus multi will be given this choice, people with raw cpl/ir won't be given any choice they must be going on ATR.
this how it should be , if it is only to put that batch of 25-2=23 (because both of those guys who didnt join in this batch was the upper crest of this batch Sohail ali scored 100/100 in written test and zeeshan every body must be knowing him very well. ) directly on 737 then it will be disaster because of failure rate and if people manage to pass then the longer duration for training and us. and more the cost of training, it will be a burden on PIA which is already in loads of burdens just because of political hiring and nephotism.

Avami;
Dude, In all circumstances 737 is definately a Jet Propelled machine, but in my opinion its about the Generation of avionics and advanced systems, such as EFIS, GNSS etc which makes one more wanted in the general market.
Having a Jet experience is one thing, but having the experience of better Avionics is more required around the world.
Still, I hope everybody gets operational ASAP, wether on ATR's or on 777's , all that matters is flying.
Fly Safe.

Dear All,
Since it was a small poll but it seems like the real truth is that majority wnts to go on 737 just because its a jet rating and since few of my fellow members were quoting that it will expedite the training process is just to justify this eqution but the real truth is that they are already thinking that they have a bright chance of moving on the 737. If their was no equation then everybody would have been thinking how quickly they come on line but now they all thinking and planning how to go 737.
Just imagine this is exactly what happening with senior pilots. Nobody wants to come on ATR and they all want to come on 737 as a Captain. Now if among your batch few are send on ATR and rest on 737, who will have a better profile? So let everybody get a fair chance and all should go on ATR and then follow the normal career ladder. Otherwise their will be a major rift among the pilot community.
