Lahore-based Northern Airways of 1940s

Post by Abbas Ali »

Does anyone have more info about this airline?

See link: Restoring the proud heritage of Northern Airways

Any info would be appreciated - thank you.

Nostalgia aside I think its inapproprite fro an Indian company to use the name Indus, I doubt if we would feel comfortable using names like Ganges, or Amu or Yangtse for local airlines since these rivers have nothing to do with Pakistan's identity.

A friend of mine has confirmed that no airline with name Northern Airways was based in Lahore or anywhere in undivided India in 1940s. In-fact none of the airlines of undivided India were based in Karachi or Lahore, the two cities which were to become part of Pakistan.

So, apparently this Lahore-based Northern Airways of 1940s is fake.

That make it even more odd, atleast Northern Airways made some sense in its neutrality, why didnt any loser think of Indus for Pakistan instead of Bhoja, Raji, Hajvairy.

Indians seem to be master of hijacking significant things in terms of history (Indus and Indus civilization) and incorporate into their own fake made up identity.

Pakistan should sue the airline and order it to change its name.

Besides, has anybody heard of this airline elsewhere? It seems to be fake airline.

I think the Indus valley saga being associated with India has got more to do with geographical factors than political, Indus civilization could have been Persian had been on the Balochistan side would we have accused Iran of hijacking things, I just said it seems odd for them to use this since its not part of their country anymore unless I dont know if it is in some way still associated with them.

Lahore Flying Club was named Northern Indian Flying Club before 1947
