RAWALPINDI, Nov 15 (APP): Pakistan and Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance direct air services operations between the two countries.
Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence,Maj. Gen (R) Muhammad Ashraf Chaudhry and Director General Department of Civil Aviation, Thailand Chaisak Angkasuwan signed MoU on behalf of their respective countries here Wednesday.
The MoU provides that the designated airlines of the two countries would be entitled to operate 18 weekly frequencies by each side to each other's country.
Earlier, both sides used to operate only 11 weekly frequencies to each other's territory.
The MoU provides that Thailand would operate their services to Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad with seven, seven and four weekly frequencies respectively.
Where as Pakistani Airlines would operate eighteen weekly frequencies to two destinations in Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket).
The MoU also envisages an open sky policy for cargo operation between the two countries.
This new development would further help to bring the two countries closer particularly in the areas of culture, tourism, trade and economy.

Airblue should seriously consider sending an A 321 4-5 times a week nonstop on the LHE-BKK-LHE sector. The aircraft is perfectly capable of flying it nonstop...even an A 320 is. via BKK they can get SPAs with BR, CI, JL, MU, CZ, QF etc.
They just need to see the profits TG make on the route to convince them of its feasibility.
