Shaheen Air to Robin Hood Doncaster

Post by saagir »

Pakistan's second airline Shaheen Air is to introduce a four times weekly service from Robin Hood Doncaster Airport to Pakistan later this year. The airline will use a two-class Boeing 767 for the operation, and also plans to continue the flight on to Toronto in 2007.

i dont think many people were expecting that. Its a good move.

This joke has gone on for a long time.

An airline that cannot manage its meagre domestic network with a ragtag fleet of 25 year+ old 737-200s is hardly in a position to operate international flights to UK and Canada.

I still can't get over the publicity this forum gave to Global Spirt Airlines, wishing them well, while all along it was some fake internet airline.

^LOL

ur right though..and its high time CAA came up with some rule barring 732's..not only are they old..they are a sorry sight too..especially if they come from an airline thats been in the Aviation bussiness in Pakistan for over a decade and still hasnt managed to establish itself..

Thats quite strange... I think most of us knew that Aero Asia is soon going to operate the 767, but its quite surprising too see Shaheen starting its Int'l operations with it.

I'm all for healthy competition, open markets, etc, etc, but really, Shaheen has proven itself as an airline that cannot get it's shit together. I would be concerned if they were allowed to fly to Dera Ghazi Khan let alone Doncaster.

New flights from Doncaster to Pakistan
26 September 2006, 15:30

South Yorkshire is set to enjoy better links with Pakistan after it was announced that direct flights will be launched between the destinations for the first time.

Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport has joined forces with Pakistani company, Shaheen Airlines, to confirm at least two flights a week. The service is aimed at attracting Yorkshire residents with family ties in Pakistan. The services will fly directly from Doncaster's to Islamabad.

Doncaster Robin hood Airport

Post by PK747 »

Hi Abbass,
Hoping you are keeping well.Still a great pleasure to view your sight always very impressive,I salute your dedication.
With reference to the above Abbass it would be great if this goes ahead as Robin hood Airport is 15 mins away from my house.
It used to be a RAF base and hosted some wonderful air shows to which I was a regular visitor.I enjoyed them immensley.I took my flying lessons near by.It would be lovely to see PIA taking a slot at this Airport.
Best wishes

Dunno how this airline, AirBlue and AeroAsia can even think of entering the long haul market when you can't even book flights within Pakistan, online ???? Looks like there are too many daydreamers out there in the Pakistani airlines industry.
You can't be all things to all people...so just be nice !
