Scale Models & R/C Models
Hello everyone,
While reading all the posts regarding the scale models by the Pak aviation enthusiasts I have noticed that every one is intrested in the Jet models, instead no one is talking about the turbo props i.e. PIA Twin Otter or F27 or even the new ATR42-500 ?
Either you all are not intrested in the turbo props or incidently such models in PIA livery are not available? or if the models are available but there is no demand for PIA livery to the manufacturers?
Also, today I went to Kuwait City where I found one Hobby shop whose dealing for R/C models and I am having keen interest in designing one of the PIAs Twin Otter or F27 or ATR42-500 as R/C model. Unfortunately, the shop was closed due to Friday so I will visit again in working days to collect all the necessary details about the engine and other accessories.
Does any one have designed R/C model?

hello rahain bhai
salaam rehain bhai
hello rehain bhai, im for VPIA and also emailed to you about joining vasim but then i joined vpia! my name is mohsin naseem! well getting to this r/c model, i tried once when i was in class 4 to make an r/c plane! it did kinda work but it was about 15 cm long and was not wireless! it was a single prop plane with styrophome material! it flew well but you had to run along with it lol! well that was grade 4. i do know how to make a r/c plane now but have'nt treid it! i suggest you visit http://www.rcplanetalk.com/ for more info! i also suggest a petrol r/c and not a battary opperated since petrol has better performance! all you really need is small engines (2 for fokker or twin otter, etc) and a wireless chip! there is also a kit but you can make your own kit! now just essemble it how you want and stuff! bye for now!

Thank you Mohsin, I have little bit experience in R/C modelling too. Rather than DH6 or ATR42, i am more interested in F27 r/c model. Any idea from where I can get the drawings? Any website?

Are you talking about static models or R/C models? Personally, I am not so much intrested in collecting the static scale models but I like the R/C models since I had work for a Hobby company! And as I said that I am more intrested in designing and building F27 and obviously in PIA colours!samee380 wrote:are these aircraft models you are talking about if so i would like to see the ATR 42 PIA

Samee, static models are those which you are always talking about but R/C models are flyable using Remote Control....I hope it will clear your query!samee380 wrote:can somebody explain what is static and R/C models? im talking about the real die-cast models

static models and die-cast models are the same thing! die-cast are small models that you collect samee and r/c models are remote controlled aircrafts! r/c aircrafts are fairly large in size, the good ones at about 1m or so! rehain bhai wants to build a remote controlled F27 model for himself in PIA livery so he can fly it for personal use!
Well some day, and i mean someday like 3-4 years from now, i'll try to make a PIA 747-300 or 200 in the newest livery of PIA! Hope i can do it!!

you can get a rc plane from any big hobby or toy shop! if you live in lahore then i would advise you to personally visit shalmi! they have great r/c at about 5-10 thousand! if your're looking for on the top of the notch r/c planes then they cost at around 1-2 lakhs and trust me they are worth it! the 1-2 lakhs planes are probably bigger than a normal person and use petrol! i however will make my own r/c plane with no mould or anything! also im not into static/ ciecast, although i have some and will post pics here!
