Trip Report ISB - KHI 7/8/06

Post by Jumponmyjumbo »

Hello every one just a short trip report from ISB - KHI

Me and my friend are in PAK (me 3rd time and my friend for the first time) The flight was delayed by 45 minutes, and the PIA customer services based in KHI forgot report this delay via telephone. Its the new service they have started i think, they call you up a few hours a before departure just confirm if you are travelling and to let you know of the current departure time.

Check In was fun as the lady issuing the boarding cards was really miserable and my friend found it really amusing how airlines can get away with staff like that. But it was nothing new for me so i took it all in my stride.

We got our boarding passes for the economy plus seats (on the boeing 747-300) and waited in the lounge for what seemed like hours. However once we boarded on to the plane it all got better. The upper deck cabin was well lit up and clean and spaciouse and the cabin crew were friendly.

The entertainment system was not switched on during the flight, I am asumming with it being a short haul there wouldnt be no point. One thing I was not pleased about was that on our e-tickets it stated we would be served a snack during the flight. Which never happened and we just got a cup of 7-up each, which i refused to take. But me an my friend had a good laugh over it, so it didnt seem that bad in the end. and he kept on saying 'if thats your lunch you've had it'. and I was in stiches everytime he said it.

Anyhow the flight back on the 7th was as equally as funny only minus the delay and with the snack this time.

I am flying back to manchester on the 19th form isb pk701 business plus. I hope its fun aswell.

Thanks for the report

As it seems you were in the lounge for ages, did you do any plane spotting?

Quick question: Was your friend Pakistani? The reason I ask is I'm contemplating taking a friend of mine along for my trip to Pakistan. Not sure how much animosity there is these days against gori chum...

Are you trying to say that on a flight from ISB to KHI and that too in Eco+ they did not serve you anything except for soft drinks???? Thats unheard of. This isn't some 30 min Fokker flight, its a 1hr 45 min flight (also known as the VIP flight by the crew, especially PK309) from ISB to KHI. Even US carriers offer you a bag of peanuts or chips for a flight of this duration.

If they're cutting back this drastically they should simply switch to offering snacks and charging for them.

You should have flown ED.

As faar as i know, PK rarely switch on their EFI system on the 743s and even the 777s. And sometimes even when it is on, they refuse to provide Y and Y+ pax with headphones!!

PK has many flaws, and they need to rectify them before competition from ED heats up!

Pardon my question but I am really curious to know what was wrong with that lady?

Thanks for the report. Hopefully domestic Pakistani flights won't become as domestic US flights in the near future
