Perhaps to appeal to other airlines e.g. Aero Asia, Shaheen Air, Air Blue etc.

An extract from the ATR Press Release, 2005
Seven new ATR 42-500 Turboprop Aircraft for PIA- 11/03/05 wrote:The aircraft will replace PIA’s aging F-27 aircraft fleet operated on socio-economic routes. The 7 firm 48-seat ATR 42-500 aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between 2006 and 2007 with delivery of the first aircraft to PIA in May 2006.
AP-BGL, how can it be March 2006 ??? Where are they then ?

The delivery is 100% May 2006, does anyone have a precise date of arrival ?

Ok, now its official, they're coming.

Boeing did a similar ad when the 733 was launched with a caption that read 'The 737-300 is the right choice for Pakistan'.

Need to find out exactly when they're coming now as I don't want to miss seeing them up close.

Inshallah if the first ATR landed in a day time as its not possible to take shots at night.

I missed the BGY/BGZ landing shots because of the similar problem
