Future Livery Theme, Colors Of Pakistan
Recently drove to Narowal for some work, and saw the wheat harvest in full swing. It was a great sight.
Agriculture in the back bone of Pakistan, with the gaint textile industry even dependent on the cotton crop. Wheat and rice farmers feed the population, while the cane growers provide us with the daily use of sugar in a number of products.
I feel the future livery of PIA should be based on the colors generated by the crops of Pakistan.
GOLD for the color of wheat.
WHITE for the color of cotton
GREEN for the color fo Sugarcane
BLUE for rivers that feed these fields.
RED for the sun
The tail being the symbolic white PIA on green background.
A white background for the fusalage to allow the multiple colors to show nicely.
Maybe our talented Nasir can come up with something using these colors and theme.

Good atempt Ali, but somehow its to close to the 1990s livery, plus you are missing the gold, a color which would show the color of a wheat field ready for harvest.
The green belly is very strong, try a white belly, and add an extra strip of gold to the windows.
Plus the urdu PIA, make that into the same shade of gold, something like the 1976-1990 livery.
I would also stop the stripes just after the front door.
Just a few suggestions, good effort.

A modified version of Ali Rizvi drawing.
I would have liked to see the urdu PIA in gold, but could not do it.
Also would it be to much if a gold stripe was added along the exsisting three??
I would like to make the point that any new color scheme should now be inducted with the introduction of the 777-300ERs in 2007, and slowly cover the entire fleet.

no offence, but that livery is the most boring, dull thing i have seen! Plus it looks very 80's!
We need a modern updated design with a large green Pakitsani flag something like this:

Since everybody has its own kind of views, I like that modified version of Ali's drawing very much. It looks so neat and attractive plus looks like the modified version of earlier green livery (90 livery).
If it comes onto changing of current tail colors, then the one which B777240 presented looks marvelous.

None taken. I think its more the 1990s style.no offence, but that livery is the most boring, dull thing i have seen! Plus it looks very 80's!
I agree this livery is nothing exciting or a head turner, but its better then the present mess being created by mixing up different styles. THE KHICHRI LIVERY as it should be remembered.
I felt that a theme based on the agriculture colors of Pakistan would be appropriate for a future livery.
The exsisting flag livery remains, and should only be phased out as newer aircraft are added over four years.
Eventually repainting the exsisting five 777s as they go for their D checks in three years.
PIA has to many Chaudries on its head to let anything professional take shape. The VVIPs of Pakistan will always interfere, or their spouses or girlfriends, making a mess of anything professional.
So as long as PIA is government owned, I think we should forget a head turning livery, just settle for the VVIP liveries changing every few years.

Amaad L, is 101% right about PIA...The livery done by Ali is definetly 1990s you can tell from the three stripes.
All we need is some tail designs that will blend the front fuselage with the tail thats all ? None of the provinicial stuff or the ones from above. Dont get me wrong the above liveries all look great but we need a tail design only. The Exotic Valley does look nice, but in my view i see a clash between the front and tail even if its a green pashmina tail.
Ali can you come up with some designs for the tail and keeping the fuselage the same as it is seen today...Nasir had a go at this and did a good job, here are some ideas of what im talking about;
Just the tail bit on this one.

PK777, I like the first design the best...stylish ...though can be slightly tweaked...the one on the 747-8...
though i would like to restate, like someone else on the forum said earlier, we need the traditional urdu pia script back in gold. Adds just the right touch of class without being too gaudy.
Just to add something else to an earlier argument, the new tail liveries look too dated. yes they have (maybe) tried to be authentic and kept the original rough/dated look of out traditional patterns, but we seriously need to re-render them and make them look modern. We all know how old designs can be rehashed and tweaked to look just right modern.
To understand what i mean...you might want to recall how the Windows operating system or the MS Office suite's logo gets changed wigth every version of the software. It carries forward the distinct identity yet being new and modern in every sense. Its how car designs evolve as well.
Just like that, PIA could have/should have given just the right contemporary touch to the new tails.
But alas...

Yes, I agree the first design looks very well thought out, the whole aircraft blends well with the design. The only thing i would change is the upper colour of the fuselage to some more bold and contrasting than that dull light brown....maybe the rear off white colour from the current livery.momers wrote:PK777, I like the first design the best...stylish ...though can be slightly tweaked...the one on the 747-8...
