New news...

Post by Charliedelta11 »

i've heard a couple of days back pilots were told that their salaries were increased and a formal letter was sent by the chairman too where he said that inspite of the financial "crisis" PIA was in..pilots were being given a measly 6-14% raise..now i've heard instead of giving them a raise, their salaries have been slashed by this margin...at one point hes going around painting the fleet again..buying new aircraft...and the next hes talking about a financial crisis...
he sure is confused...

any views on this ?

Crisis - Mr Kirmani knows about this !

A government committee was set up to look into the dealings of Pakistan Steel when this man was Chairman, and before he had to appear his best mate Mr Prime Minister (yes this former Banker) got him a transfer to PIA.

PIA pilots do a fantastic job - it is a shame that they have lame duck senior management who just talk the talk and do sweet F.A !

I have heard that PIA is now refusing to let go of its pilots sensing the mass outflow. They are trying to use the Minitsry of Defense, under which PIA falls to force its pilots in place. Currently this has been exercised on a B777 FO moving to Etihad.

really..how the hell can they stop their pilots to leave by force...this just might be the funniest thing i ve ever heard. the shortage is now disturbing the flight schedule and from what i ve heard they re trying to get the permission to grant 2 year extensions to retiring 747 captains.

That's not true. Kirmani was the Chairman and MD of PSO (oil marketing) and was never involved in Pakistan Steel management. He came directly from PSO to PIA.

wow...they are now forcing people to hold an underpaid job...excellent...a new low in paki history...especially PIA...we ought to have a book on the greatest mistakes and failures of the airline....regarding how people with no aviation expertise have managed to scr** it up..by sitting at its helm..
