PIA's DXB-SVO flight...
Is PIA still doing the Moscow flight via Dubai? Because if they are, they might as well stop it because they are competing with EK and SQ on that route (I didn't even realize Singapore flew this route!) and will have no chance of making money of this route...

Re: PIA's DXB-SVO flight...
I don't know about yields, but the fligth is usually 100% booked in J and Y classes on the DXB-SVO-DXB sector. Most of this traffic does not originate in KHI, but in DXB. I imagine they do well on the KHI-DXB sector.PIAinORD wrote:Is PIA still doing the Moscow flight via Dubai? DME is a long ways outside of Moscow, but has been privatized and has recently undergone a rufurbishment, with a brand new terminal. In the past it was used exclusively by former USSR airlines, but now a lot of major carriers including BA, LX, and SQ use it.hmm, what's the difference between the airports? Still their facing some heavy competition no? You can forget about premium pax on the route...
SVO however remains Moscow's main international gateway, but it now desperately needs an overhaul (physical and human resource).

For PIA to get such high loads in both J and Y classes makes it seem that their fares are way lower than SQs and EKs but at the same level as Aeroflot. Currently the route is flown twice a week...hopefully if loads and revenue maintain their consistency then we may see an A 310 do a third weekly DXB-SVO-DXB route

Maybe Russia in general is just underserved period? It is the largest country in the world area wise with a huge population, surprised the airlines aren't tapping into this market more...behramjee wrote:For PIA to get such high loads in both J and Y classes makes it seem that their fares are way lower than SQs and EKs but at the same level as Aeroflot.
