if you recall reading my BKK related posts...this is how a twice weekly frequency is constructed...one weekday (MON) + one weekend (FRI) service. not back to back weekend/weekday days as was the case with the LHE-BKK and KHI-BKK flights!!!

ATH has been online and offline for PIA for many years.

The PIA flight currently goes:

Karachi-Lahore-Milan-Athens-Lahore-Karachi
Karachi-Islamabad-Milan-Athens-Islamabad-Karachi

The Athens trip is not feasible on PIA, making it a 14 hours flight from Karachi, a trip that should be around 7 hours long.

The flights should be routed:

Karachi-Athens-Milan-Athens-Karachi
Lahore-Athens-Milan-Athens-Lahore

I don't see anyone traveling from Karachi to Athens, considering PIA would be marketing two flights a week from there.

If PIA will willing to link Rome with only Lahore, then why bother with orginating the Milan flight from Karachi???

Currently both the Rome flights orginate from Lahore.

Lahore-Paris-Rome-Lahore

PIA should try to make every destination attractive, and at the momment Athens does not sound like a good idea.

Was Athens ever on the PIA routemap or this is a never-before visited by PIA city?

If this is a resumption of filights, why not call a spade a spade?!

precisely...thats why it has always been plagued with becoming an offline station months after it was relaunched as an online destination.

ATH shouldnt be served period...whats the Pak population there to justify a service?

PIA would be better off interlining with a EU carrier via FRA to ATH or even Olympic via DXB rather than bleed cash flying there.
