AP-BAK visits London-Heathrow in new tail livery

Post by Abbas Ali »

PIA Boeing 747-240BM (registration AP-BAK) was noted on stand 323 this afternoon (March 19, 2006) in a revised livery at London-Heathrow Airport. It is painted with flowers on the tail and has “Colours of the Desert” on the side of the aircraft.

I checked airliners.net right away when Abbas Bhai posted the thread but there wasn't any picture of it.

As far as the picture is concerned, Does it match with the current livery? What I think is the base/background on which the Blue flowers are painted should be cream in colour.

Personnaly I think the tail livery of this aircraft is not designed to be confonded with the rest of the livery. This livery is made to catch the eye of the man who looks at it. The livery, for my opinion, needs to be a little chocking to attract everybody. It needs to leave nobody indifferent!

But thats the case when company paints few of its aircrafts to a unique colour scheme for promotion of its country's culture, but if I'm not wrong PIA is going to paint all of its aircrafts to new tail livery.

I think they might not paint the fokkers though, it's for 2007 as it has been called "Visit Pakistan Year."

brilliant! it actually looks pretty cool! i hope the rest of the fleet looks as good as the 747's...although i'm a bit skeptical about how good the A310's and 737's will look considering the fact that the colour schemes on the tails were awful!

While the new tail is much better then the orginal flag livery, but it does not blend in well with the remaining fusalage color scheme.

I wish PIA had used these designers two years earlier when the livery was being changed across the board, and allowed them to design the new livery from scratch.

The concept of four color schemes can work, and project an image of Pakistan like never before.

But the only thing this modified and disoriented livery will project is a disorganized Pakistan, not having a clue about color cordination or artistic values.
