LAX and MEL from this summer?

Post by CoyBoy »

A poster at a.net has mentioned PIA starting Los Angeles in June and Melbourne in September, What do you think? they do tend to pull surprises.

I can see LAX as a possible route but MEL should be a code-share with any airline flying via SIN,KUL to MEL

indeed :)

Uptil 2001, PIA had such an arrangement (interline though) with QF via BKK and SIN on Australia bound flights.

Is there any need for Melbourne. Singapore Airlines has started up again and they are Austrailia's most frequent visitor.

hmm...2011? that is er...pretty long term planning on PIA's behalf...LAX i can understand..but MEL ? hmm...does it have a sizeable desi community to cater to ? And would stationing an LR on KHI/ISB/LHE - MEL routes be cost effective? or would PIA have to direct flights via a south east asian country?
I think if they start MEL right now a direct link from any paki city to mel would give them a distinct advantage over a few other carriers..because if i'm correct EK has a stopover in either KUL or SIN ?

Emirates have non-stop services to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth from DXB. However, in addition to this they also have flights to SYD/MEL via SIN.
