PK 722 on March 8

Post by BigJ »

I was ill the last time I was to fly, so I am going to fly on March 8.
The seat availability on the PK website looks good.
Is that accurate?
Thank you.
I will post a trip report.

Its empty because its the 74M, you DEFINATELY do not want to be flying on that plane, try to get one of the flights operated by the 772ER's...

I do not believe this flight is empty due to the fact that it is 74M.

-This is not peak season and PIA's JFK flights frequently operate at load factors of 50% during this time of year.

-The fact is that the average person (non-aviation enthusiast) flying on PIA doesn't know the difference between 777s and 74Ms. I mean PIA unfortunately is not the sort of airline that attracts a high degree of frequent flyers.

-The 74M operating this flight (AP-BAT) underwent a major overhaul two years back and the Business Plus section on it is now equipped with PTVs.

***********

Back to topic: I believe the forum member has previously expressed a desire to fly on PIA's 747 classics.

I agree i just checked the flight on the PIA website and you are sure to get a B742M, try to change your flight as soon as possible.

To answer your question the data on the PIA website is quite relaible as i have just it afew time to check the flights im travelling on, but its always good to ask your travel agent.

Ok if the business class section is equipped with PTVs, what about the economy class section? Was there any change made by PIA for this section as well?

No....the cabin is still in bad condition. The only thing they changed in economy class was the seat covers! And last year, i travelled on BAT in business class the Ptvs were not even working. The toilets were blocked..headphones not working. It was so not cool.

What can replace them B744Combis or A310F? These aircraft really need to be replaced, but as one of them is getting painted in the new livery doubt they will go soon..

These PIA 74M Combis will be retired in 2008. (I read some where!)

I'll have to see it to believe it. ord, sorry if I offended you with my post but actually there are people savy enough to realize PIA got new 777's and that these are the optimal airlines to fly on with the best amenties.

I think we've been over this a hundred times. The 74M's will retire in 2008 and some o the 743's maybe next year, 2008 and 2010.

I am back.
I flew on PK 722, and returned on PK 715.
I actually liked the 74M. I had a whole row of 4 seats at the rear of the plane, and it was very roomy. The seats were comfortable as well.
The staff were all very nice, and the food was excellent.

The 777 IFE is very nice.

Thank you to PK for wonderful service!
I look forward to another flight in the future.
