Judgment in PIA reference against Benazir on Oct 13

KARACHI: An Accountability Court (AC) presided over by Parkash Lal reserved its judgment on Tuesday in the PIA reference case till October 13.

Former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, political secretary to the former premier, Naheed Khan, former MD of PIA, Farooq Umer, former Director Administration of PIA, Ghulam Qadir Shah Jamote and the former section officer to PM Secretariat, Najmul Hassan face charges of appointing and promoting in 1996 1,788 PIA employees in violation of the company's human resource procedures.
