Cabin crew assaulted on PK749 to CDG

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK749, operated by a Boeing 777 (Registration: AP-BGK, Construction No: 33776, Age: 21 years), experienced a serious in-flight security incident en route from #Islamabad to #Paris on 6th April 2025.

The flight, under the command of Captain Amman Durrani, departed Islamabad at 12:16 PM and landed in Paris at 4:44 PM, completing a flight time of 7 hours and 28 minutes.

During cruise, a passenger named Mr. Safir was found smoking in the cabin. When Flight Attendant Shamim Abbas intervened, the passenger assaulted him. Flight Attendant Asif Kundi also attempted to help and was physically attacked as well.

The cockpit was immediately informed. Captain Amman Durrani exited the flight deck to handle the situation but was threatened and bullied by the unruly passenger. The captain returned to the cockpit and coordinated with PIA Flight Operations and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport security.

On arrival, the passenger was arrested and a formal complaint was lodged. The injured crew displayed exceptional professionalism and bravery under duress.

This incident highlights the urgent need for zero tolerance toward in-flight violence and stronger enforcement of international aviation safety protocols.

Passenger blacklisted by PIA, according to news reports.

The passenger injured flight attendant’s arm by grabbing and twisting it and punching her on the back. He also attacked the flight steward and the captain, but they managed to snatch the cigarette from the passenger.

No common person does this knowing this can have lifelong repercussions. Only spoilt blokes with connections have audacity to create such drama.
