CEO Hitit Nur Gokman and CEO Pegasus Airlines Guliz Ozturk met Pakistan Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan to discuss cooperation & expansion in the field of civil aviation between Turkiye and Pakistan.
* PIA has Passenger Services System (PSS) agreement with Hitit till the year 2028.
* Pegasus Airlines operates four weekly flights between Istanbul and Karachi with Airbus A320neo aircraft. Pegasus Airlines also showed interest in taking part in PIA privatization process, according to news reports.
Pegasus flights are always full. I have never seen an empty flight on SAW-KHI sector. They want daily flights I guess. This route is doing extremely well, and onward connections to almost all of Europe is possible via SAW due to Pegasus extensive European network. It is a great low cost carrier, the biggest low cost carrier operating to Pakistan, I believe.I have seen people using Pegasus from Europe to Karachi and then flying onwards to Lahore and Islamabad. So I also think they want other airports landing rights too as mentioned by another member.
Pegasus Airlines was a member of consortium led by YB Holdings pre-qualified as a bidder in the first attempt to privatize PIA. Other members of that consortium included Pioneer Cement, Artistic Milliners, ANS Capital and Metro Ventures.
* Parties interested in privatization process meet privatization minister.
