PIA Seeks Cargo Management/Customs Clearance for Delivery of GE90 and CFM56 Engines to PIA Engineering in Karachi

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has invited quotations from renowned companies for complete solution of cargo management activities after import of GE90 and CFM56 engines including but not limited to engine movement, loading, unloading, customs clearance and delivery to PIA Engineering department at Karachi Airport.

Last day for submission of bids is January 1, 2025.


Boeing 777 aircraft in PIA fleet are powered by GE90 engines.


Airbus A320 aircraft in PIA fleet are powered by CFM56 engines.

It means PIA has acquired some engines and at least a few 777s and a320s might return. What about those aircraft which need landing gears and APUs?

Finally some good news anyone know how many GE & CFM engines have arrived??
Hopefully more are enroute to revive at least 3-4 planes in the fleet.
