Before flight departure from Islamabad, a passenger created hoax bomb SMS and sent it to his friend who also was a passenger aboard the same aircraft. The passenger who received the SMS showed it to a flight attendant. The aircraft underwent thorough search at Islamabad Airport before getting clearance to depart. Later, both passengers told the flight attendant that the bomb alert SMS was a joke.
Airports Security Force (ASF) offloaded both passengers and detained them at Islamabad Airport for further legal proceedings.

Fly Jinnah (FJ) Airbus A320 aircraft registration AP-BOO departed from Islamabad at 5:22 PM as flight 9P673 to Karachi where it arrived at 7:06 PM with a delay of 2 hours 56 minutes. Flight 9P673 was scheduled to leave Islamabad at 2:10 PM and arrive in Karachi at 4:10 PM.
