PIA invites bids from freighter forwarders for:

* Air transportation of CFM International CFM56 engine(s) from Karachi to Canada.

* Air transportation of CFM International CFM56 engine(s) from Karachi to Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, UK, USA, Canada, China.

* Air transportation of General Electric GE90 engine(s) from Karachi to Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, UK, USA, Canada, China.

Airbus A320 aircraft in PIA fleet are powered by CFM56 engines.


Boeing 777 aircraft in PIA fleet are powered by GE90 engines.

I assume PIA is either returning some of the engines which it had on lease earlier on and now they're being redelivered to the lessors or it's sending it's engines for overhaul (shop visit) about which the CEO mentioned in the FB live session in a scenario where PIA isn't able to procure engines from the market.

Or maybe they are exchanging engines.
