Air Indus Intends to Restart Flight Operations

Post by Abbas Ali »

Air Indus has contacted Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to restart flight operations, according to news report on following link:

On July 1, 2015, Pakistan CAA suspended Air Indus flight operations over "consistent violation of safety regulations" by the airline.

What a bad idea.

Serene Air only operating 2 A330s.

Fly Jinnah flying 5 A320s

Sial Air flying 5 A320s

Air Blue flying 7 A321s and 5 A320s

Two points are killing Pakistani airlines.

No.1 unlimited competition from Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Turkish

No. 2 High percentage of taxes on tickets along with taxes on aviation fuel.

Local airlines are not able to compete with the Middle East airlines.

Well if they're actually coming back, here's what they should do: operate domestically for one year, in the following year, go International, skip Middle East and fly to Turkey, Malaysia, Japan etc...

What has happened to Serene Air. My understanding is that most of the senior managers from Shaheen Air moved across. Why are they down to only operating 2 aircraft?
