Submitted financial bids for hiring a consultant for the deployment of eGate system at major airports of Pakistan to be opened at 11:00 AM on November 21 at Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Headquarters in Karachi.

Financial bid for hiring a consultant for the deployment of eGate system at major airports of Pakistan was opened at Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Headquarters in Karachi on November 21.

Only one bid was received from a Joint Venture (JV) comprising three entities including NUP from Germany, Comrades Consultants from Pakistan and Indus Consultants from Pakistan. Technical bid submitted by this JV has already been qualified.



The financial bid that was submitted along with technical bid by this JV was opened in the presence of bidder's representative. The submitted total quoted bid for the project is PKR 403,000,330,916/- (four hundred three billion three hundred thirty thousand nine hundred sixteen rupees). The bid amount announced is subject to the detailed evaluation of financial bid documents.

Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Launches eGates Feasibility and Installation Project



A delegation from Germany's M2P Consulting, comprising local and international experts, recently visited the headquarters of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) to formally launch the planning, design, and installation of eGates at airports of Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.

Prior to the signing, talks were held to discuss key technical and operational aspects of the project, presided over by Deputy Director General PAA Sadiq ur Rehman and Deputy Director General Works and Development Sumair Saeed.



An agreement signing ceremony followed, where the agreement was inked by Managing Partner of M2P Consulting Christophe Mostert and Director Engineering Services PAA Kashif S. Jillani.

The entire process - including planning, design, implementation, and installation - is scheduled for completion within 24 months. The consultants will provide technical supervision and guide contractors selected through a competitive tendering process.

Key discussions included the integration of the eGates system with ICAO protocols and local airport agency systems. Once implemented, the eGates will significantly enhance passenger security, introduce automated control, and reduce reliance on manual processing, ensuring a smoother travel experience.

Surveys at airports of Islamabad and Lahore are complete, while the survey at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport begins on April 23. The event was attended by senior PAA officials including Directors of Planning, Development, and Engineering Services.
