airblue Airbus A320 Flight PA251 to Skardu Returns to Islamabad Due to Landing Gear Issue

On May 23, airblue Airbus A320 (aircraft registration AP-BNU) departed from Islamabad Airport Runway 10R at 9:21 AM as flight PA251 to Skardu and landed safely on Islamabad Airport Runway 10R at 9:57 AM i.e. 36 minutes after takeoff. Maximum altitude attained by the aircraft 5,600 feet. The aircraft also flew holding pattern at an altitude of 5,225 feet before returning to Islamabad.

The aircraft returned to Islamabad because it was unable to retract landing gear after takeoff, according to news media.

Around 9:43 AM, the aircraft also made a low pass at an altitude of 2,425 feet over Islamabad Airport Runway 10R/28L apparently to allow ground observers to view landing gear position and report it to cockpit crew.

May 23, airblue Islamabad to Skardu flight PA251 appearing as cancelled on Islamabad Airport website. The flight was scheduled to leave Islamabad at 9:00 AM.
