Why PIA uses two different flight numbers in each direction for YYZ-LHE-YYZ sector while it does not use the same practice for KHI-YYZ-KHI sector when multiple flights operate on that sector in a week.
IMO, all 4 or 5 flights in the week should have same flight number for PAK-YYZ-PAK, because none of them are on the same day, irrespective of the station in Pakistan is the Origin or destination.

Re: Multiple flight numbers for YYZ-LHE sector
There were proper flight numbers in the pre covid era. Once flights resumed, for a few months PIA operated 4 digit flight numbers by adding 8 or 9 before the regular numbers. Has been a mess since. I see 783 flying the LHE-YYZ sector some times while it was always the flight that flew out of KHI. Similarly JED flights are a complete mess. LHE-JED was always 759 but in recent past it’s been flown as 959, 859, 841, 741, 839, 831, 731, 659, 839, 739, 835, 761 and what not. But I guess this never matters to the normal passengers and is only an OCD for followers like us. DXB is the same. Probably an issue with destinations having a high weekly frequency. To answer your question YYZ is still somewhat better as 789 and 797 are regulars from Lahore since a decade.
