On May 21, a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage after experiencing technical problem crashed near Chak Number 412 JB Cheemian Wala around 12 kilometers from PAF Base Rafiqui - Shorkot from where the aircraft had departed for a routing training flight.
The pilot was able to eject safely from the aircraft. The crash did not cause any loss of life or property on the ground. A man injured on the ground was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

PAF operates Mirage III and Mirage V including two-seater trainer version of the aircraft.

Most of these Mirages are from the 1960s and 1970s.
Upgraded in the 1990s under ROSE 1-5 programs to keep them flying until 2020.
Its time PAF retire them and replace them with JF-17 Block III.
