United Kingdom (UK) Department for Transport (DfT) aviation security team has begun security assessment of Islamabad International Airport.

A four-member UK DfT team arrived at Islamabad International Airport - Islamabad for the security assessment of the airport. Throughout the assessment, the team will thoroughly inspect implementation of various security measures at the airport with a specific focus on the measures being adopted for direct flights to the UK.

This assessment from May 21 to 23 is a continuation of collaborative efforts between British High Commission in Pakistan and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to enhance aviation security standards in the country.
