Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Request for Proposal (RFP) for consultancy services for the preparation of detailed design, procurement support and construction supervision of new Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, Fire Station and allied facilities at Skardu International Airport.

On December 2, 2021, Skardu Airport was made available for international flights.


On August 13, 2023, aircraft began using newly constructed Runway 14R/32L of Skardu Airport for landing & takeoff.

From December 13, 2021, Skardu Airport's old Runway 15/33 permanently became unavailable for flight operations.


Skardu Airport new apron has parking bays for three aircraft.
