The passenger was detained by Airports Security Force (ASF) upon landing at Islamabad Airport. He was released after submitting an apology to the authorities, according to news reports.

The apparently intoxicated passenger became violent in the Business Class section of Emirates Boeing 777-300ER (aircraft registration A6-ENI) flight EK614 from Dubai that arrived in Islamabad at 1:21 AM on February 25.

A male flight attendant was headbutted by the unruly passenger when flight attendants tried to restrain him.

A male flight attendant was able to pin down and restrain the rowdy passenger.

Then a female flight attendant arrived with a pair of emergency black cable ties to get the passenger handcuffed. The ties are kept aboard the aircraft for handling such unruly passengers.

Passenger most likely banned for life from traveling on Emirates flights.

I wonder if there is some sort of "shared passenger blacklist" between airlines so such individuals can be barred on airlines other than the one where they created a mess?

This is an ongoing discussion between airlines and authorities. In the EU they are trying to build a system but "privacy" is told to be more important. At the moment there is nothing big. So if a passenger is banned from airline A, he or she can still fly with B, without knowing about their behavior.
