Election Commission of Pakistan Halts PIA Privatization by Caretaker Government

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has intervened to halt Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) privatization process.

ECP in a letter addressed to Secretary Cabinet Division has formally requested records pertaining to airline's privatization process. ECP has issued a directive to the Secretary Cabinet Division instructing an immediate cessation of all privatization proceedings related to PIA.

The letter emphasized that no further action should be taken regarding the privatization of PIA until the ECP issues its final verdict.
