interesting development as 4 airlines are operating on multan to jeddah route viz ,

Saudi = 4×weekly 777-300ER
PIA = 6×weekly 777-200ER
Airblue = 5×weekly A320-200
Air Sial = 5×weekly A320-200

This route is now providing 4th largest seating capacity b/w pak and saudia after khi , lhe & isb :shock:

Its got a much larger passenger load than any base in Pakistan. Add more flights and they will just keep filling up.

Multan have definitely outgrown Sialkot , Faisalabad & Quetta in terms of passenger load. It's slightly behind peshawar to grab the coveted title of 4th busiest airport in Pakistan after obvious big 3 \:D/

I am traveling to/from MUX for quite sometime now with SV. Arriving from EU, MUX connection time is poor so i find flights being cheaper than big 3 airports for Saudia -SV and MUX being hometown and the fact I have SAUDI visa- this all fits well for me. I have to say SV flights are always full and travel in/out of MUX is very chaotic due to illiterates and first time (mostly) Umrah and labor travel from across the south region so despite me being SkyTeam elite plus member, there is no concept of Priority Check in or boarding and as soon as the boarding is announced, a flood of people runs to gate and chokes it (well its same in rest of the country as well). last December When I asked for priority rights, I with my family was upgraded to business class at check in which was totally empty.
Latest I arrived MUX on 3rd AUG and the flight was completely empty. probably 20% load or less. Reason being last Hajj flight to MUX was on 2nd AUG so HUJJ is over and Umrah is yet to begin and meanwhile MUX has no one to travel to/from. This also signifies the fact that MUX is very busy but only due to HAJJ/UMRAH passengers otherwise there isn't really a demand for holidays and hardly any for VRF.

I am arriving MUX again on 4 SEP and departing again on 5 SEP and due to the fact that Umrah has picked up, I am expecting huge crowds both inside and outside the airport.

MUX is the single major airport in south punjab. The siraiki diaspora in ME is of large number. The passengers from SKT and LYP can easily use LHE.
