Motorway Accident Injures Flight Attendants of PIA Sialkot to Dubai Flight PK179

Toyota Corolla transporting PIA flight attendants badly damaged in Lahore-Sialkot motorway accident.

A Toyota Corolla car transporting PIA flight attendants from Lahore to Sialkot met an accident when it collided with a truck near Kamoke on Lahore-Sialkot motorway. Two PIA flight attendants and car driver received serious injuries in the accident and have been shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

The two PIA flight attendants were traveling from Lahore to Sialkot to perform duty as cabin crew members of June 30 PIA Sialkot to Dubai flight PK179.

On June 30, PIA Airbus A320 flight PK179 to Dubai was scheduled to leave Sialkot at 12:35 AM. Flight's departure has been delayed due to car accident involving flight cabin crew.

PIA flight PK179 to Dubai is now expected to leave Sialkot at 1:00 PM.

On June 30, PIA Airbus A320 aircraft registration AP-BLS left Sialkot at 1:38 PM as flight PK179 to Dubai with a delay of thirteen hours. The flight was scheduled to leave Sialkot at 12:35 AM.

Current condition of Rashda Majid is deteriorating with the time passed
No positive response is seen in her condition
Her lungs filled with blood and tubes for removing are installed
She is on ventilator
Zero hope for her recovery is expected so far but Allah is great and anything can happen
Her brother and sister reached hospital in lahore
Her son is expected tomorrow from UK
Her platelets are at 60 now
Drs are not hopeful but still our prayers can do miracles
Praying for any miracle from Allah Almighty

This is sad news. Very sad indeed. PIA is short on cabin crews
as well. I heard they were doing over time. This should be investigated why this road accident happened to avoid such things in the future. I wish them speedy recovery inshAllah.

I hope the injured recover soon. Terrible incident especially when staff were on the way to their job and in the care of their employer.

But what i would like to state here is that the car build quality appears to be very substandard by even basic NCAP standards. This has been highlighted in locally produced cars many times by Pakwheels enthusiast Sunil Manj sahihb. The wreckage of the car shows that there are no crumple zones in the car and the passenger shell is not protected either. These are basic design issues that were resolved many decades ago by the car industry so the solution is known. The passenger shell must resist deformation in the event of an accident to protect the occupants. this car has folded in an unacceptable manner.

Update on Rasha Majid.

Rashda is still in critical condition. Under sedation and still on ventilator. The doctors main focus now is her lung function.
Her ribs were fractured in accident on one side and punctured the lung which is now completely finished
Just pray for her

lots of prayer for her . really sad indeed . Few private careers we have here including PIA are also hellbent on transporting Pilots along with Cabin crew by road because of crew shortage and there has been many instances when driver dozed off during driving.Even Cockpit crew and Cabin both are unable to rest properly due to extensive road travel of 5-6 hours on average right after flight flight. CAA must take some action or have some other alternative to it!
