A meeting between Pakistan's Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and Oman Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) delegation visiting Pakistan has decided to increase the number of flights between the two countries.
Basically means:

Oman Air flights

Karachi-Muscat-Karachi 14 x weekly
Lahore-Muscat-Lahore 7 weekly
Islamabad-Muscat-Islamabad 7 weekly
Faisalabad-Muscat-Faisalabad 7 weekly
Multan-Muscat-Multan 7 weekly
Sialkot-Muscat-Sialkot 7 weekly
Peshawar-Muscat-Peshawar 7 weekly

PIA flights
Karachi-Muscat-Karachi 4 x weekly
Lahore-Muscat-Lahore 2 weekly
Islamabad-Muscat-Islamabad 2 weekly
Faisalabad-Muscat-Faisalabad 1 weekly
Multan-Muscat-Multan 1 weekly
Sialkot-Muscat-Sialkot 1 weekly
Peshawar-Muscat-Peshawar 3 weekly

PIA should be renamed Pathetic International Airlines

Our ministers handover our traffic to foreign airlines for kickbacks.

Maybe Air Sial to be included in the list of designated airlines allowed to operate commercial flights between Pakistan and Oman under a revised Air Services Agreement (ASA) between the two countries.

Air Sial intends to start flights for Muscat, according to news reports in recent times.

In the past, airblue and Shaheen Air also operated flights to Muscat.

Seems like PIA has got a good presence in Muscat. And it also seems like Muscat might be the most well-connected destination in PIA’s network as PIA is serving MCT from 9 different stations.

Also interested in knowing how well connected Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Sharjah is in PIA’s network.

Oman has codeshare with QR and probably LH too. If they increase capacities to 7x weekly, this would mean PAX to west can also have now one more option on every day flying to/from Pakistan.

Omar Air more interested in carrying Pakistani passengers beyond Muscat. I think most middle east airlines target Pakistanis in transit to Europe UK and USA rather then their home base.

Both QR and WY are increasing flights to Pakistan. Pretty sure this is the same Khawaja Saad Rafique who blamed the previous management for corruption and selling slots at Pakistani Airports to ME carriers.

They should cap the number of flights foreign carriers can operate to Pakistan and end the open-sky policy, but here they are, allowing more and more ME flights into Pakistan.

KHI is already lost, LHE and ISB up next?

Salam & Oman Air would be major beneficiary of this new deal & Air Sial from Pakistan side
