It was a scam. They say insurance company is charging 1 lac USD per person below 1000 HRS. That is not affordable. If they knew that thing why they published an AD. So this is a scam from day first.
But yes If SC allows PIA is gonna hire cadets but the question is when SC will fix case for recruitments no one knows and no one wants to talk on that.

No news only a batch of experience ALTP holders mostly ex Airforce are going to start their course soon
Even though I understand your sentiments, this was not a scam. It was in fact a step in the positive direction to hire low hour pilots, train them and to see how they perform. It would have eventually paved way for second officers who would have costed the airline much lesser than an experienced first officer.
For those who remember the 200 hour batch Shaheen picked up after conducting the test and interview, there were in fact many batches after that 200 hour test batch who would have now been very experienced first officers had the airline not declared bankruptcy.
There are other very strong lobbies at play when it comes to hiring in such airlines.
